Lions and Tigers and Bears… Oh My…
If you are looking for a quiet, afternoon treat in Pattaya, Thailand, I recommend you travel one hour away to the Sriracha Tiger Zoo. And though you maybe not see lions and bears, you will definitely see tigers and many other zoo animals. The zoo is open from 8am – 6pm daily. Ticket price is 450 baht (~$13.50) for adults.
One interesting and fun fact about the Sriracha Tiger Zoo is that it’s hands-on interactive. You can ride the elephants, feed the tigers and pet the scorpions! But the highlight of the zoo is its impressive show schedule. There are different animal shows scheduled throughout the day and you can easily navigate from one show to the next. The animals are entertaining, making this zoo a must visit.
The first show we saw was the Crocodile Show and it was pretty intense. For about 20 minutes, we watched the handlers interact with the crocodiles, from playing with them in the water to sticking their hands and heads inside of their mouths! This show is not to be missed, full of fun and entertainment.
The second show we saw was the marquee, Tiger Show. It was a nice show, but nothing more than what I was expecting. The tigers danced, jumped through hoops, walked on tight ropes, and performed a variety of different tricks to keep the audience entertained. It’s definitely a MUST SEE show when vising Sriracha Tiger Zoo, but just don’t expect more then what you are already expecting…
The last show we saw was the Elephant Show, and it was my favorite. The elephants were so adorable… playing basketball, throwing darts, and just being a “dog-on cute” elephant. There was even a baby elephant to fall in love with! The elephant show also allows for crowd participation, so be prepared if you want to be a part of the show.
There is also a pig show, but we didn’t get a chance to catch it. But in all, we really enjoyed our time at the Sriracha Tiger Zoo. For only $13, it was a nice afternoon break from the hustle and bustle of Pattaya.
Have you visited Sriracha Tiger Zoo? Which show did you enjoy the most?
