I looked at the calendar and realized that in EXACTLY TWO WEEKS I’ll be back in the Maldives. So this post is a perfect time to reflect on my past BEST VACATION EVER!
Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa
This was going to be our first trip to the Maldives, and we wanted it to be perfect. After hours of researching online where to stay, my husband and I settled on Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa. Hideaway Beach is located in the northern Haa Alifu Atoll, on its own private island. You reach the island via seaplane or domestic flight/speedboat. (So getting there is an adventure in itself). When my husband and I arrived, we were surrounded by white sand and blue ocean water. It was, indeed, perfect and it was only day 1.
Hideaway Beach offers many different villa accommodations. We chose to stay in the Deluxe Water Villa with Pool. Why? Because Maldives rule #1, when you stay in the Maldives, you stay in a water villa!
Our water villa sat out away from the island, with steps leading down into the ocean. I loved watching the sunrise every morning from my private balcony. My villa also had a private, infinity jacuzzi pool, as well as a covered sitting area for relaxing and just enjoying the moments.
The food was absolutely amazing. The buffets were plentiful, with a variety local and western cuisines. The restaurant staff was very attentive in making sure we were satisfied with every bite. We also ordered room service a few times, and I must say the seafood pizza was a repeat order! (food tip!)
Private Dinner on the Beach
I will always believe that I have the best husband in the world… One night my husband treated me to a beautiful, private dinner on the beach (along with a private chef and waiter). The food was flavorful and fresh. It was a dream experience.
What to do in the Maldives…
A Maldives vacation is just that…a vacation! At Hideaway Beach Resort, we spent our days riding bikes around the island, snorkeling, and relaxing in the pool. It was a great opportunity to sit back and recharge. We listened to music. We played games. We watched movies. We admired sunrises and sunsets. We just enjoyed life.
Hands down…this was my Best Vacation Ever. In two weeks, we’ll be back in the Maldives… different resort. We almost booked again at the Hideaway Resort, but we decided to try somewhere new.
So Amaya Kuda Rah is up next and I look forward to seeing what it has to offer….
